The Scripps Institution of Oceanography (UC San Diego) is now accepting applications for the 2025–2026 Scripps Postdoctoral Fellowship. This program is one of the most competitive opportunities at Scripps, designed to support independent and creative research while connecting early-career scientists with the resources and community here at UC San Diego.
I am excited to support a postdoctoral candidate with interests in fish physiology, biomechanics, and bio-inspired design. My lab is deeply committed to mentoring early-career researchers and helping them grow as independent scientists, while also building strong collaborations across disciplines at Scripps.

Application deadline:Â October 9, 2025
Eligibility:Â PhD conferred by November 30, 2026; no more than three years of postdoctoral experience at the time of appointment
Award:Â Two years of support, annual salary of $74,000, plus a $6,000 research allowance
Mentorship requirement:Â Applicants must connect with at least one Scripps mentor in advance. A mentor support letter is required for the application to be considered.
